It’s over for Julian and Blind Date girl
Julian Lloyd Webber has split up from his ‘Blind Date’ girlfriend.
The cellist brother of composer Andrew met 28-year-old Roz Hamandishe, a one-time contestant on the TV dating game show, 18 months ago after they were introduced by friends.
Their friendship blossomed into romance, with Mr Lloyd Webber, 50, saying at the time that the relationship was ‘quite serious’.
Yesterday Miss Hamandishe confirmed it was all over, but denied the age gap was to blame.
The recruitment consultant refused to discuss the split further as she left her flat in Thornton Heath, South London, with a male friend.
The friend said: ‘She doesn’t want to talk to anyone about this. You will have to ask Julian.’
Twice-divorced Mr Lloyd Webber’s spokesman would only add: ‘It is a personal matter.’
Career girl Miss Hamandishe, who was loud-mouthed during her Blind Date appearance, seemed an odd match for the reserved, reticent musician – admitting she hadn’t even known who he was when they first met.
But Mr Lloyd Webber, who was divorced from his second wife Zohra Ghazi in July 1998, said that their differences had helped the relationship flourish.
‘I appreciate the fact that Roz is from a different background,’ he said in a recent magazine interview. ‘That is very important to me.’
